Dear All,

This is the last bulletin before Holidays and Conferences programme abroad ...

I will turned off the Internet connection from July 28 up to September 10. Also, depending on the location and the Internet accessibility, I might check my email box occasionally.

1. Demo CD-Rom

European Chemistry Test 2000 / version 3.5.1 eu

A new version 3.6.0 eu will probably appear around October. An opportunity is under consideration, to integrate the full Hungarian version of the Demo test.

2. Pre-testing "Test" News

A couple of pre-testing at Level 2 will be scheduled during the second semester 2000 in France (Lyon), Italy (Perugia), England (Bristol), Spain (Valencia) and Hungary (Szeged), on behalf of the Dissemination project in collaboration with and in Parallel to the Mathematic and the Biology European pre-testing.

The Chemical results will be processed from a statistical point of view - and of course shared with Kristiina's Working group and more generally speaking with the ECTN. A special intermediate release of the Demo at Level 2 will be issued in 5 languages (v 3.5.2.eu).

As already stated, feedbacks, comments, answer files from pre-testing are still welcomed and should be send directly to the following people :

- Pre-univ. tests Level 1 and 2 : to Kristiina Wähälä kristiina.wahala@helsinki.fi
- Analytical test Level 3 : to Pascal Mimero .pascal.mimero@wanadoo.fr
- Inorganic test Level 3 : to David Cardin d.j.cardin@reading.ac.uk
- Organic test Level 3 : to Tapio Hase hase@cc.helsinki.fi
- Physical test Level 3 : to Juan Antonio Rodriguez Renuncio
renuncio@eucmax.sim.ucm.es

for general comments, not focusing on the tests themselves :
to Anthony Smith smith@cpe.fr
for technical problems independant of the test contents :
to Pascal Mimero .pascal.mimero@wanadoo.fr

3. European "Umbrella" Association :

Please, you are invited to visit the new and draft "Umbrella" Association Website of the 16 European Projects at :  http://ww.cpe.fr/ceetok/

Thanks to those who provided the translation of the Chemistry webpage :

- Tony Smith : English
- Jean Claude Kaell : German
- Gian Gualberto Volpi : Italian
- Ana Barros : Portuguese
- Denis Papaioannou : Greek

- The French version was provided by myself.

This site is currently under work, and need to be polished and completed.
Also, I would much appreciate if you could report any problem encountered while visiting this site, as well as suggestion and comments about the presentation, the information, or whatever ... you might find usefull - feel free, everything is welcome ;-)

>>>>> Technical focus : for those who wanted to check the Greek Chemistry page, Greek font are used in combination with the future Unicode font standard (UTF) ; you would be so kind if you could report accurately on this point : could you really display the greek text or not ? indicating the Navigator and the Environment version. This could help us in setting up the Internet Perception Server for the Greek version of the Chemistry Test, as well as the other non occidental languages. Thanks in advance.
