Aim of the group / Rationale:

Core Practical Skills: As part of the general aim of the ECTN to analyze and define core skills and core content, the aim of this group was to define the practical skills required of all graduate chemists. Chemistry is a practical subject. Chemistry graduates are recognized by a broad range of employers as having a wide range of desirable skills which equip them to succeed in a multitude of careers. The report of this group shows ways in which the practical component of the degree training can give "added value" to a chemistry degree - even for those who do not end up doing practical chemistry.
