Euromaster® : Applications

Updated: 28-07-2009 21:30

Following on from the successful introduction of the Eurobachelor® Label, the European Chemistry Thematic Network ECTN has now also developed a framework for a second cycle qualification in chemistry, the "Euromaster®".

This is designed for degrees with between 90 and 120 ECTS credits. It can also cover degrees with a strong chemistry component such as biochemistry, biological chemistry or chemical biology. "Non-traditional" universities (Hogeschool, Fachhochschule, Haute École, etc.) can also make use of the framework in their chemistry or chemistry-related second degrees. The Euromaster® is extremely flexible and open, so that it does not force universities to work according to a fixed pattern.

For full details, please read the Euromaster® framework; A PowerPoint presentation which describes the main features of the Euromaster® can also be  downloaded from the "Documentation" page.

The ECTN Association offers interested institutions the possibility of applying for a "Euromaster® Label". This Label, which will be awarded for a period of 5 years in the first instance with a possibility of renewal for further 5-year periods, is intended to promote international recognition of the degree qualification and to document the willingness of the institution to participate fully in the European Higher Education Area which is being constructed in the Bologna process.

The Association has an international Label Committee which deals with the administration of both Labels. For further details of the Euromaster® Label Application see here.
